With over 20 years in the U.S. food industry, Scott Hegenbart started ScooterDoob Creative Media in April 2001 to provide technical writing services to food industry clients. Scott is experienced in providing magazine articles as well as text for press releases, brochures, websites, presentations and training videos.

Prior to starting his own business, Scott most recently worked for Horsham, PA-based VerticalNet. At VerticalNet since 1998, Scott was Managing Editor/Content Manger for business-to-business web communities, such as Food Ingredients Online.

Scott's food industry experience is balanced between both hands-on product development work and food industry publishing. He began his career as a Quality Control Chemist for American Ingredients, Inc., Kansas City, MO. He soon began creating new bakery ingredients after being promoted to a Research Chemist position. Scott next joined the Elmhurst, IL-based Keebler Company, as a Food Scientist. Here, he created new cookies and crackers and was involved with all phases of product development from concept and prototype development through plant scale-up and production.

Scott began his publishing career as Associate Editor/Technology Analyst with Prepared Foods and Dairy Foods magazines, now owned by BNP Media, Troy, MI. From 1991 to 1996, he was the founding Editor of Northbrook, IL-based Weeks Publishing Company's Food Product Design magazine which serves the informational needs of research and development scientists in the food industry. Through ScooterDoob Creative Media, Scott has contributed to FPD as well as other industry publications. He also has written a regular column for Kosher Today.

Prior to joining VerticalNet, Hegenbart held a position as Multimedia Production Specialist with the Department of Food Science and Technology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In this capacity, he worked with faculty to educate both students and the general public on food science issues using video, computer-based interactive multimedia and the World Wide Web.

Hegenbart holds a degree in both Chemistry and Speech Communication from Iowa State University, Ames. He is a professional member of the Institute of Food Technologists.
